GSM System Engineering
Description
This two-day seminar provides a solid grounding in principles of basic GSM system design and RF engineering. Propagation, antenna systems, and traffic engineering principles are thoroughly introduced. Finally, GSM system design, growth, and performance considerations are explored each student receiving example files on disk.
Course Objectives
After completion of the course, delegates should be familiar with the different nodes within the GSM system and understand the different interfaces and protocol stacks. They should also understand layers 1 and 2 of the Um interface and know how the different radio link features will impact on cell and frequency planning.
Prerequesite
Basic technical mathematics
